Behind the scenes of Revolutionary Road with director Sam Mendes

On The Road has been cruising through production for some time now, and finally a trailer has arrived, which you can watch online now…

Transit (2012)
A family on a road trip is stalked by criminals who stashed stolen money in their car.
Jim Caviezel… what happened to you?
So a family goes on a trip and criminals decide to hide their stash in the baggage… The chase begins. Pretty straight forward and simple, we’ve all seen this before. Nothing new… and what the fuck was with the baddies? Nothing about this seemed/looked believable. Sad.
Attempts at twists were pathetic. Some pretty shots here and there… I was not amused. Cool car though.
Me no gusta.

Top Greek film maker Angelopoulos dies in road accident
Agelopoulos won major awards in a career spanning more than 40 yearsAn award-winning Greek film director, Theodoros Angelopoulos, has died after being hit by a motorcycle.
Angelopoulos was 76. He died in hospital from head injuries after being knocked down near the port of Piraeus.
He was famous for a style of film that involved long, carefully choreographed sequences, as he examined political and historical themes from modern Greece.
He won the top prize at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival – the Palme d’Or – for his film Eternity and a Day.
Many of his other films – including Ulysses’s Gaze and The Travelling Players – also received awards and high critical praise.
The Nazi occupation of Greece in World War II and ensuing civil war were big themes in his early films.
He had started shooting a new film about the effect of the current economic crisis on Greeks. He was crossing a road when the motorcycle hit him.

Roadie (2011)
After 20 years on the road with Blue Oyster Cult, Jimmy Testagros returns to his hometown to life with his ailing mother. Complications arise when he falls for an old friend, who is now married to his longtime nemesis.
A different Rock & Roll film!
Ron Eldard stars in this Indie-esque story of Rock & Roll. Bobby Cannavale and Jill Hennessy are cokehead douchebags – superb casting. High school reunions are the best.
It’s a semi-heartwarming story about acceptance and self-worth. We all go through “roads” in life and sometimes those roads lead to crossroads or even worse dead ends. Roadie looks into the life of a man who thought he had it all, lost it and gained self respect along the way.
Pity is the main emotion expelled by this drama, with a charm that brings hope to those who have none.
A simple and wholesome movie with lessons and situations viewers can relate to. Perfect for this rainy Sunday afternoon.
“It was fun while it lasted” – So true.
